Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between NRC and CAC ratings?
NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) measures how much sound a ceiling tile absorbs (reduces echo). CAC (Ceiling Attenuation Class) measures how much sound is blocked from passing through the ceiling into adjacent rooms. PuloMax tiles provide a balanced performance for both acoustic comfort and speech privacy.

Q: Which thickness should I choose?
Thicker tiles (15–20mm) offer higher sound absorption (NRC) and better sag resistance — recommended for high-humidity areas, schools, and hospitals. Thinner tiles (10–12mm) are more economical and suitable for standard commercial interiors.

Q: What edge type do I need?
Square Lay-in edge sits flush in a standard 15/16" or 9/16" T-grid (most common). Tegular edge creates a shadow line for a more premium look. Concealed edge hides the grid entirely for a monolithic appearance.

Q: Can mineral fiber tiles be used in high-humidity areas?
Yes. Our RH99-rated tiles are specifically formulated to withstand environments up to 99% relative humidity without sagging, making them ideal for coastal or tropical climates.

Q: How do I clean mineral fiber ceiling tiles?
For regular maintenance, vacuum with a soft brush attachment. For spot cleaning, use a clean white eraser. Avoid wet-cleaning standard tiles as water may damage the surface and cause sagging.

Q: Do mineral fiber ceiling tiles contain asbestos?
No. PuloMax mineral fiber ceiling tiles are 100% asbestos-free. They are manufactured from premium slag wool, a safe and recyclable material.
